Took the dogs out to Kvernevik today, so that they could run down by the sea like Tiger used to before we all moved to Hillevåg.

Knerten is getting bigger, now weighing 15 kilograms. Knerten is Tigers number one fan, and when Tiger feel like it, he can be a very nice bigbrother, other times he show his grumpy side and wont tolerate much from Knerten, the little clown.

This afternoon we took all the dogs out to Lifjell, for a nice mountain-walk. Knerten did good and managed to keep up with Tiger and Lettie most of the trip. Allthough he sometimes gave out a little bark to show how upset he was when they ran faster than he could.

Trendy Blue Tiger

Daily name Tiger. He is my precious boy and will always have a special place in my heart. He is my first greyhound, and has given me many grey hairs as well as smiles. After owning a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel for 12 years before I got Tiger, this was a dog with a HUGE personality. I was lucky enough to bring home this little boy for free as a payment for helping out with the litter. So I have known him since he was six days old, and as he grew I just fell more and more in love with him. So even though he never could be a show-dog I didnt hesitate one moment when I got first-choice of the

litter.

Today I get many compliments about his wonderful temperament and also good looks. And he is the family-clown. He wants to be with us all the time, when we are at home. He is my shadow, and when I struggled with a bad back Tiger could be sleeping on the floor beside my bed all day long if I couldnt get up. Only going down a few times (with force) to get him to eat or go to the toilet.

When we moved together with Ragnar, we planned on keeping the dogs in their own room during the night, but Tiger have managed to work his way up from the dog-room to the hallway, to the kitchen and finally up to our bedroom. (in only three-four months time) So he is the only dog who at this moment spend the nights on the floor beside our beds.

His bestfriend is still Sisco, his half-brother, and he knows his brothers name and react with happiness and love. He also knows names like "grandpa and grandma" as well as daddy. His great ability for connecting names to persons just makes him more special. Also, his gentle "hugs" is something I tought him, but he continued to practice to show affection, or to try to manipulate us into doing something. You who are lucky enough to get a little greyhound-head on their shoulder knows what I am talking about.

He is very warm and welcoming to those he knows and see as friends. But other people are only sniffed on carefully, and he can be very aloof sometimes. He has taken upon himself to protect the rest of his pack and also house and garden. So if Ragnar is away on business I always feel secure when I have my bluebrindle boy following my every footstep, as I know he would alarm and protect me if needed.

Daily name Lettie. Became a norwegian champion at the age of 6.

Lettie joined us at the age of 6 1/2 after a family-tragedy happend in her current home. We already knew her and she would be a great companion and playmate for Tiger. She is getting closer to 10 but is still as fit as a pup. She jumps like a kangaroo, and still amaze me with her bouncing just like Tigger in Winnie-the-Pooh.

She is very sweet with pups and play carefully with them if they allow her. She is soft and sweet and will do anything we ask of her. She has found her favourite-place, on the heating-floor on the kitchen. She gives love to everyone who let her, and a friendly hand is all that is needed for her to love someone.

Because of her "I-love-you" body-language towards us, Ragnar would not believe me in the begninning when I told him that she is the boss, not only to Tiger, but also cousin Sisco. (And now also to our little whippet)

But Lettie has the most amazing way to control her two boys. Because she is so secure, and have such a clean body-language, there rarely is any noice when Lettie wants it her way. Tiger and Knerten both knows that its Lettie's way or the highway.

Still, she doesnt use her power for bad things, and they all share their food-bowl or other snacks without much problems. Offcourse, Lettie, who can lay quietly down and look at us with big deer-eyes, can, at the moment we turn away "collect" food from the other two boys and quietly lay down again on the same spot and pretend nothing happend when we come back. The few times Lettie is home without Tiger she put on the role as protector. If we let her, she would probably sit 10 hours a day with her head in our laps, getting attention.

She isn't too fond of food, and can at times be too thin, without having a bad affect on health and because she is 10 kilos lighter than Tiger, she was for many years much faster than him, and she is still able to make turns Tiger only can dream about copying.

She lives a happy retired home at our house, and except from stealing food from us from time to time, she doesnt do anything wrong and her personality doesnt shine through as easy as Tigers. She still is a dog to fall in love with because of her loving nature and eager to please.

Daily name Knerten. He is the newest member to our little pack of sighthounds, and even though we dont want too many dogs at the same time, we quickly figured out that this was the right time for a pup. I decided many years ago that when Lettie one day disappeared, we HAD to have a new dog, and that dog would be brought in before Lettie's days were over.

Even though I love many breeds, a smaller dog was what we wanted. Small but still tough enough to join us for mountain-walks, and something that wouldn't drag in the whole forrest in his furr. The answer was clear. A whippet. Tough dog, smaller size.

Knerten is our first whippet, for both me and Ragnar. And compared to Tiger, who didnt bark before the age of 6-7 months, we already have heard Knertens cute little voice. He is a very sweet pup, doesnt bother his older and bigger "siblings", and is quiet during night-time. He almost wag his way out of his skin when he greet us in the mornings and as long as he has enough toys, he is kind enough to leave the furniture alone. Already, after only owning him for three weeks he respond to the word "No". He loves Tigers BIG stuffed toys, big enough for him to sleep on, and haven't destroyed any of the hundreds of toys we have laying around.

Tiger have taken upon the roll as a teacher of right and wrong. Lettie is the gentle one, who let Knerten curl up beside her, and she and Knerten usually play in Lettie's bed, where Lettie gently put her paws around him, and they can lay there for 15 minutes, just nipping at each other, wagging their tails.

Even though Tiger is the strict one, there is no question who is Number One in Knerten's eyes. Tiger has become Knertens big hero, and he follows Tigers every move. Tiger, to our joy, is behaving much like Sisco was when Tiger was a pup, and Sisco was two years old. He is strict when he have to be, but very very patient when it comes to bothersome babybrothers. I hope Tiger will continue Sisco's way of teaching the pup to behave when Knerten reach his "almost-grown-up-part-of-life" at 6-7 months old.

Right now he has the longest legs ever, and today he got his 12 weeks vaccination. The vets loved his calm being, and they just fell in love with his secure and charming self.

Tiger, Lettie and Knerten lives as familymembers, they are where we are and get to walk freely around the house as long as we're at home.

They have quietly settled in and found their place in our home, and Ragnars little daughter, who live with us every other week are for the dogs a beloved sister. We are a big family but a very happy one. We couldnt be without the dogs, they give us laughter and smile everyday. Protection, love and many many many sweet memories to keep in our photo-albums and in our hearts.

today we spent all day in the garden under the warm sun. Sisco's mum is in London, so he is staying here as well. Good thing we have a big garden because all four of us played for hours outside. Mum filled up one of those pools for toddlers so we could chill down. And we used the trampoline to escape from the sun when we got too warm

Here he is. Knert, or Knerten.

9 weeks old.

Me and Lettie are really curious about him, but because we are so big we throw ourselves down in play-position to show him that we dont want to harm him. In a few days I bet he will want to play with us. Now he mostly spend time with our mum and dad.

But he is very sweet.

Mum said that he makes less sound than me during the nights (appearantly they some nights think i make lots of sound, I can't help it if I have to go to the toilet because I forget to do both number one AND number two the first time they let me out)

This is Knerten's bed. Both me and Lettie tried to lay in it at least two times each when mum bought it. We couldn't understand why she bought a small bed, when she have us, BIG dogs!

BUT, the bed wasn't for us. It was for our new pack-member. Knerten. he looks like me, and is bluebrindle like me, but he's a Whippet. So he will be mini-me

Lettie looks a little bit concerned here, but she isn't. We just thought: "wow, he just comes along with his new toy, and isn't afraid to lay down beside us". What a cool little guy!

Offcourse, usually I am the one getting new things I can carry in my mouth. But I am not taking the toy from him. Just looking at it.... (and again, he is so smart and secure, so he doesn't care that I stay and look at him)

Yepp Knerten, this is YOUR new bed. We dont fit in it (and believe me, mum had a great laugh looking at us trying to)

Mum and dad visited Replica whippets in Oslo (www.whippet.no)
They met five strong healthy and very good tempered pups, and fell completely in love with them. Mum already knew she would love them, but dad (who by the way, only went to see them, not buy them) quickly changed his mind when he sat with the little gang and met the adult whippets.
So, soon our little greyhound-pack will grow into a whippet-greyhoundpack. Can't wait to take the little one for some beautiful mountain walks this summer.

already the next day after been put on medication I felt much better, and didnt show many signs of pain anymore.
So today, because my parents still think that I am sick, I managed to steal and eat 15 chicken wings. I was caught in the act, and couldnt blame it on Lettie because she wasn't home (stayed with Sisco) so after that they looked really dissapointed at me.

BUT, it was aaaaall worth it :-) *yum*

(and my parents have to sleep in a very upset stomach-odore tonight,)

from Monday till Tuesday we went to a cabin on Hidra. And that was fun,... untill I hurt my neck on Tuesday. Mom and dad thought I had strained myself, because I often do that on long trips, but this time i didnt get better. So today they took me to the vet and he told me I had a disc bulge in my neck.

It hurt no matter what I do, even when I lay down, and I walk around with my head hanging down and my back arched.

Mom and dad put my teddies around me, so that I can rest my head and maybe not be in so much pain. They also put me on medicine. In a few weeks I will be much better I hope. In the meantime I will continue walking backwards up the stairs.....

a few posts ago I told you guys about Sisco's stay and how I managed to "loose" two dogs at two different occasions.

WELL... We know better now.

The prank is out Sisco.

Sisco, who we all thought was a nice guy who never did anything wrong. Who just walks around in our living-room with a toy in his mouth, wagging his tail and always looking at us with a little extra spark in his eyes.
He is quite clever, that little gentleman.....

If you read back on my last post (written by me offcourse, and not by Tiger) you will find out that I managed to shut Tiger out on the dog-room.
Well, this actually happened four more times, and even though I stumble around, loosing things and also myself at times, I KNEW that even I couldnt manage to forget my own dog five times in very few weeks (actually two weeks to be exact)
So I talked with Ragnar, and we decided that Tiger now found a way to open that specific door, and we started locking it.

But we found it odd that he never opened any other doors.... so Ragnar, who appearantly use his brain more than me started to get suspicious and unlocked the door after Sisco went home.
And his suspicions were right. No dog has opened that door again. Not after our little black boy went home. (nor has it ever been opened by any dog before Sisco came to stay with us for two weeks)

Our conclution to this is that I'm NOT a bad dog-owner (not as bad as I first thought....but I still forgot Sisco.....) Because our door-opener is our very own...... SISCO...

We have made quite a few laughs after he went home. Just to think about him, walking over to the door, opening it, just to see Tiger walking trustfully into the room, and then watch the door silently closing behind Tiger. (the door almost close itself, but we're guessing that Tiger used his paw to try to open the door again, and then shut the door properly by pushing on it)

Lettie and Sisco probably enjoyed sleeping without any interferrence when they have shared a bed just listening to Tiger's frustrating owls, barks and the scrathing on the door.

And we HAVE to give Sisco credit. Even though he opened a door without permission.
Because Tiger was the dog who was stupid enough to walk into that room.....five times........

this was so heartbreaking so my mum have to write it with her own words (like she doesnt put her words in my mouth when I "write" on my blog)

Told by Anja;

We're having Sisco with us for two weeks while his mum is in Argentina in her brothers wedding.
There is no problem with Sisco staying with us. Tiger and Lettie love him, he is Tigers half-brother and Lettie's cousin.

So, there are no problems with Sisco. In fact, thats the problem! He walks around like a shadow, and do nothing of himself. While Tiger is like Tiger. Big dog, Big personality, Big oppinions, Big, Loud, Noisy (yes we DO love him, despite all this, no, BECAUSE of all this)

Ok, its not any problems keeping three dogs in this big house with this big garden, but I walk around with my thoughts elsewhere, and sometimes forget to count my group of dogs. Even my own dogs.

The first situation was when I went to the store today. I closed all doors into rooms the dogs arent allowed to be alone in, and went to the store. When I got home only two dogs greeted me at the door. Sisco and Lettie. Weird... Tiger would NEVER miss the chance of saying hello to me, and I know he recognize the sound of the cars, so he usually stand in front of the door before we even reach the stairs outside.

But no Tiger..... I started panicking, because, if you know Tiger, you will never say "where's Tiger?" when you are in the same house. You even see him or hear him. I started running around in the house, opened all the doors in all rooms both upstairs and downstairs. Right before I was about to call the police and tell them that someone had eaten my dog (really, I believe I was THAT frantic) when I suddenly looked at the room I should have looked in first. The dog-room (we keep all the dog-equipment there, and its the entrance out to the yard). And what did I found behind door number 6. A Tiger. A Tiger who ran right pass me and out to the other dogs in the kitchen. He had offcourse ripped apart a plastic bag with Sisco's paw-sock in, and also pulled down some leashes and collars from the shelfs. But apart from that he hadn't made a sound out there, when I looked for him.

Again, if you know Tiger you already know that would be something that never could happend. Tiger on one side of the door and us on the other equals A LOT of sound. So he didnt talk to me before I opened the freezer and pulled out ox-tails.

BUT, that was unfortunually not the last time today I managed to shut out a dog... and now, I hope Marie can forgive me when she read this! Because this time it happend to her dog. Not for long, thanks to Tiger.

Like I already wrote, Sisco walks around like a shadow, like the Phantom himself. So I am not used to hear him very much, and he lay there like a VERY obedient dog.

It started with Tiger, who had to go out for a private errand. Usually I open the door in the dog-room to let him in again, but today I used the door at the back-porch, opening into the living-room. So I went out on the porch and called in Tiger, and closed the door. Sat down on the couch, and three minutes later Tiger starts running around, whining. I sent him an angry look, and continued doing what I did. Tiger now runs out in the hallway, looking out the window. Then in high speed, and walking on his toes with a stretched neck, coming into the living-room. Look out the window, then starts whining like he never did before. I decide to look what the fuzz is all about, and what do I see. A black greyhound standing on the back-porch, cold and eyes in the shape of a question-mark.

I quickly opened the door, and Tiger couldn't be happier. He must really think I am a mean mummie... Hopefully, if Marie, Sisco's mum read this, she will read it with a light heart, and forgive her friend, who is very easily distracted......
And instead think of two dogs, two brothers who are friends for life

I can't believe it. 2 months of snow!!

Today, we went to Hålandsvannet. Together with my mum, dad, little sister Elena, and my cousins, Tobias and Sebastian. And my grandparents.

We got dressed and I got to wear my backpack and carried snack for both humans and dogs.

As you can see in these two pictures I was quite proud to have the responcibility for our liquid and food.

I am a HERO!! (Auntie Marie says so)

Yesterday was awful for Lettie, who is frightened to death of fireworks. She spent all new years eve down in the basement with the radio on.
Me on the other hand was sound a sleep when the fireworks was filling the air at midnight.

Today Lettie is alright again, and we spent all afternoon infront of the fireplace.

the winter is here. Dont think I have ever seen so much snow before. And what do my mum come up with? A new "saddle" for me to carry.

I am not sure what the english word is for it, but I have already tried it outside, and was a really good boy according to my mum.

not always easy to get me (Tiger) to lay still when its time for pictures. Dont misunderstand, I LOVE pictures of myself, but I get easily distracted, and when our new little sister Elena was joking and having fun together with me and Lettie, I think both my mum, Anja and my dad, Ragnar got their patience tested to the full. They now understand that film-producers say that you should never work with kids or animals :-)

Sisco have been spending the days here in Hillevåg, sort of a doggy-daycare, and this time, the first day he came, Tiger and Lettie were both very interested in his smell. Because it was a long time since Sisco was here last time, Tiger was a little bit intense on the smelling-side, but because I decided to just let things go its turn, he quickly got tired of smelling Sisco, and Sisco showed him some teeth, and that was it. Today when Sisco came again, no smelling at all. So this was one more proof of how wonderful our boys are, and that sometimes its best for the dogs to get to be dogs, and fix the problems themselves, especially when they do it quietly without any noise.

For the first time I took a swim in the sea. Why? Because I was running after Ragnar into the ocean and completely forgot to be careful. Suddenly I couldnt feel the sand between my toes anymore and had to swim back to the sandbank.

This weekend our mum took us out to Hafrsfjord to meet Charlie, an adorable 11 week old poodle-puppy. His owners plays in the same orchestra as our mum, and we had to see the new family-member.

well, its not a secret to those who know us that we have spent a lot of time in Hillevåg lately. Both me and Lettie like it here, and had no problems settleing down. Appearantly we have two homes now, a little bit confusing when mum take us back and forth between Hillevåg and Kvernevik, but we gladly run inside, weither the adress is Grågåsveien or Køhlersvei....

Also, Lettie managed to rip off a claw on her backfoot, and we spent over an hour today, waiting for her while she was asleep on the operation-table. Appearantly they had to go in and surgicaly remove the nerve as well as the rest of the claw. Now she has a huge bandage on her foot, and has to wear it for four days.

this last week has been really hot, but luckely our mom take us out for a long walk in the evening when it is cooler, and then we can run around without getting over-heated.
